Surgical Gastroenterology Week, a Continuing Education Program in Surgical Gastroenterology, initiated in 1991, has been an annual feature of the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, for a number of years now.
THE DEPARTMENT OF SURGICAL GASTROENTEROLOGY, presents the 21st edition of SGE WEEK as “Re-operative GI SURGERY’ from 31 March – 2 April, 2017. The course is designed for postgraduates in Surgery and Surgical Gastroenterology, as well as practicing General and GI Surgeons.
The topic of Re-operative GI Surgery has been chosen this year because this is one crucial area that remains largely untouched in most conferences despite being of paramount importance. The process of planning and decision making in this scenario is often more complex and requires careful consideration of the alterations in anatomy and physiology brought about by the primary surgical procedure/s. This SGE week will provide the participants an opportunity to learn from experts in Surgical Gastroenterology, from all over the country who will share their insights and wisdom and give valuable tips on how to navigate the tricky road of re-operative GI surgery.
The hallmark of SGE Weeks has always been the opportunity of close interaction of delegates with the faculty. Lot of time is given for questions and answers in all the sessions and this remains the core feature this year too. We look forward to having lively discussions that provide the audience with clear take-home messages.
